The designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, of the Valentino brand, and the supermodel Bella Hadid are among the winners of the Fashion Awards, which were held this Monday in London.
Piccioli, the creative director of the Italian luxury brand, was named Designer of the Year at the annual event. Hadid, a regular on the runways of the fashion capitals Milan, Paris, London and New York, was named Model of the Year.
“For me, fashion is a responsibility,” Piccioli told Reuters on the red carpet ahead of the award ceremony. “I feel like I have a voice and I want to use my voice even for those who don’t.”
Other winners include Yvonne Chouinard, founder of outerwear brand Patagonia, who took home the distinguished award. In September, Chinard said she was donating the clothing company to a fund that will use her profits to combat the climate crisis.
The British brand Burberry has won the ‘World of Metaverse and Gaming Experience’ award for its virtual world projects.
